Sansevieria
Christmas is over, the Christmas tree is leaving the building and now there’s an empty space. Sansevieria is perfect to fill this gap! Sansevieria is a real all-round houseplant that adds value to any interior. Nostalgic, modern, industrial or trendy: a Sansevieria works anywhere. This plant particularly derives its popularity from it easy care and sleek look.
Indestructible
Sansevieria, also known as the snake plant or mother-in-law’s tongue, is an incredibly strong houseplant and virtually indestructible. Sansevieria originates from the desert, and this rugged terrain explains the plant’s toughness. This plant can survive extreme heat and drought, so the living room is no challenge whatsoever for the Sansevieria. Sansevieria can easily be identified by its green pointy leaves that stick straight out the soil. The leaves have a striped or spotted pattern, often with a yellow edge.
Good for your health
Sansevieria has air-purifying qualities and one of the highest success rates when it comes to converting carbon dioxide into oxygen. The Sansevieria’s leaves also increase the humility in a room, which is good for the eyes, skin and airways. So as well as being stylish and strong, Sansevieria is also good for your health.
Extensive choice
As well as being indestructible and good for your health, Sansevieria is also a very diverse plant. There are around 70 varieties of Sansevieria, of which the Zeylanica and Laurentii are the best known. Alongside the well-known varieties, there are also Sansevierias with unusual shapes and a unique appearance like Sansevieria Masoniana, which comes in different variants such as ‘Congo’, ‘Victoria’ and even 'Variegata'. Sansevieria Masoniana’s nickname is very appropriate - the Whale fin plant (The Fig & Willow Flower Bar).
